Econometrics has as its aim to subject abstract laws of theoretical political economy or "pure" economics to experimental and numerical verification, and thus to turn pure economics, as far as possible, into a science in the strict sense of the word."

The main objective of the first version of this book is to bring together researchers who work and provide education in the field of applied econometrics and applied statistics related to women issues and provide a network among researchers from all over the World. The book will not only provide details of existing econometric and statistical methods on the problems of women but also will take a deeper insight and evaluation into the recent women targeted policy implications, initiatives and mechanisms.
